In 1972, Joe Bova and Terry Ferraro launched B & F Masonry Ltd. to compete in the busy Winnipeg marketplace. Seven years later, Bova and Ferraro partnered with Henry Eismendi to form Gibraltar Concrete Canada Ltd. The two companies developed a province-wide reputation for uncompromising integrity and exacting workmanship.
The partners added general contracting to the business mix in 1989 when they invited Ted Nocita to develop Man-Shield Construction Inc. In 2000, the firm opened its first branch office in Thunder Bay, Ontario. A year later, Man-Shield established an office in Calgary and followed-up with branch openings in Edmonton and Toronto in 2002.
Today, Man-Shield Construction is one of Canada’s most successful construction contractors with sales volumes exceeding $125 million. The company’s tremendous growth has developed through a process of inclusion and pride of ownership. The addition of valued new partners – Greg Fiorentino, Tony Ferraro, Bill Sharpe, Reno Molinari, Frank Bevilacqua, Peter Belluz, Tony Alfarella and Tony Nocita – has helped fuel the corporate engine in each market. The firm’s relationships with prominent retail, commercial, industrial and lifestyle developers has positioned it for a solid future. |
